The congregation of the Guru Gobind Singh Gurdwara in Bradford has once again made a generous donation to the NHS. £10,000 was donated to Leeds Cares – the official charity of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHT).
This week Sharon Link, Charity Manager for Leeds Care was presented with a cheque from the Executive Management Committee for the Gurdwara.
Mr Ajit Singh Gill, President of the Committee said “Whilst the Gurdwara is situated in Bradford, a lot of our congregation now live in Leeds and we know that many patients are often referred there from Bradford to continue receiving excellent treatment”.
Head Priest for the Gurdwara, Mr Gurmeet Singh said “The congregation of the Gurdwara have been very generous. A large of amount of money was previously donated to Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust and with the extra money raised we wanted to donate this to LTHT”.
Mr Balvinder Singh Bains, is a Trustee of the Gurdwara but also works for LTHT said “I am very proud of the Sikh community in Bradford for supporting the NHS. Everybody is aware that the Coronavirus pandemic continues to impact on our daily lives and how hard the NHS has worked to treat patients. The Sikh community will always support the NHS in times of need”.
